March 5, 2006

Yo yo yo! What an unbelieveable weekend we had. The Doc's Kids "March Mini Tour" went way better than we imagined. And that 16,000 pound semi truck failed to send us to oblivion on the highway...whew! We met tons of new fans/friends and crashed at a couple of sweet digs. Thanks for
the food and accomodations. The hot tub was steaming as well! Peace and love to bpzmag's family for hosting us and making us feel more than welcome.

Menomonie's Acoustic Cafe and my cousin Laura and Melvin the "Wacky Wheeler" felt the hard
core beats of acousticomedypop at it's finest and will surely be rocked again. Yeah, we enjoyed the University of Wisconsin at Madison's bellydancing team also. Wow!!! We'll keep you posted as to when we get those pictures up here.

We'll see you all in Mankato for St. Patrick's Day at Pub 500 and at the Bryant Lake Bowl on Thursday, April 13. Our good friends and musical soul mates Great Uncle Helmer
will be opening up for us. Keep checking the performance page for more exciting news and developements!

"Bye Bye Bananas" has been featured as "Track of the Week" this week at www.garageband.com! Here is the link to check it out. Thanks Garageband reviewers!
***Look for us in the upcoming edition of "Static Magazine" at record stores and coffee shops.***

Cheers to a new year and a fantastic 2005. Thanks to all the generous donors, we collected about 200 toys for our Toys For Tots Campaign. We each took a minute on Christmas Day to think of the kids
that got something you donated, and we shed a few tears. Thank you so much for your consideration and generosity. Here's what we have for pictures so far...

The new CD "Ballyhoo" is already getting rave reviews. Check out the "How was the Show?" web site for the latest review of the CD and the release party. It sure was a blast! Ballyhoo will soon be available on our website for purchase.

We're excited for our next couple of shows, and we hope to see you there. Yes, Mankato is letting us back to rip the roof off of Pub 500 like last time. And, we'll be heading back to Lee's Liquor Lounge
for an opening slot for Mighty Fairly on acoustic Tuesdays.

October 14, 2005

As our webmaster writes this, we're putting the finishing touches on our rip-roarin' gig at Pub500 in Mankato, and we've got the promotions team workin' 24-7 to gear up the Twin Cities (and beyond) for our amazing, stupendous holiday tour 2005! More details are on the way, but for now...brace yourself...we've got not just one, but TWO new CD's coming out in November! One is the long-anticipated "Ballyhoo", and the other is an extra-special holiday CD that will be available for FREE to all those who bring an unwrapped toy to our November and December Toys for Tots benefit gigs sponsored by Dunn Brothers, Borders Books, and the Dunwoody Graphics Design Department! Check out the performances page for more details on those shows and more!

We'd like to thank our new banana spokesmodel Monica (last name witheld for confidentiality) and Matthew for returning to the Leaning Tower specifically to catch our show. It was fun performing for you guys!

Our webmaster is putting a link here so you can see our new recent posters for shows. Erin Simenson has been doing fantastic work and feel free to contact her (dreamreaper20@hotmail.com) if you need any artwork done.

The music of Doc's Kids is featured in a number of comedy skits on the locally syndicated television program "Nate On Drums." You can pick up your own "Best Of: Season One" DVD at www.nateondrums.com. Check it out!

'Sup dogs? Thanks for chillin' with us at the last Dunn Bros. show on
Grand. We busted out a few of our newest songs. "I'd Rather Be an
Animal" is already making people bump n' grind. Our newest CD
"Ballyhoo" is almost ready for us to listen to, make notes to, and send
back to the producer and say "make it better". You know how it is in
the music biz.

So, Doc's Kids is already getting ready for Christmas. We're in the
process of partnering with Dunn Bros., the Dunwoody Institute Design
Department, and Toys for Tots, to make this Christmas a little more
joyous for some unfortunate children in the Twin Cities. We know it's
early to start thinking of cold weather, snow, and mistletoe, but we've
got to record a CD and book these shows now. All (100%) of the
proceeds will be going to Toys for Tots 'cause kids rock! So, make
sure to make it to a show this fall and bring in some new toys and
you'll go home with a 6-song Doc's Kids Christmas CD and a warm heart.

You might have been seeing some of our new flyers around town. We'd
like to cordially introduce you to Erin Simenson. Erin is a
Minnesota resident who enjoys going to school and drawing. More
details to follow, and soon we'll have her artwork/posters on this
website for your viewing pleasure. Let us know if you'd like Erin to
draw you something!

If you haven't checked out the videos on our home page, go do it now! And we've made some tweaks to the site, hope you like 'em...if you're looking for our mp3's, they haven't disappeared, they're just relocated to the discography section of our merchandise page. Enjoy!

4/14/05
Alright, we're done buying houses, gettin' married, having kids, getting new jobs, and being accepted into law school for a while, and we can finally gig. We got one coming up that we'd like to see you at. Find out more on the home page or "performance" section.

T&A has been working hard at completing the first official DK video for "Fragile: Handle With Care". We'll post it soon on this site and you can
let us know what you think. Also, our documentary is in the works.

That's all for now. Except that the new record is about 1/2 way
done and we're stoked to release it soon!

02/12/05
After a deeply intense period of introspection and time off, the DK pounced back on stage with a rousing show at Dunn Brothers in St. Paul last Friday night. Thanks to all the pals and gals that showed up to cheer us on! We've got a few pictures of the show posted up here and a brand-new e-mail form on the home page - just in case ya didn't notice! More news to come soon, including details on the fifth-world government coup that T&A has been planning behind closed doors...oops, did we just print that?

11/29/04
Holy crap, it's been a long time since we've updated the website.  We're not apologizing, but just observing.  Many things have been going on professionally and personally.  BPZMAG got married and bought a house
(not necessarily in that order) and J.Bell passed his LSAT with flying colors.

Does this mean the slow demise of Doc's Kids?  Hell no!!!  We're ready to rock and we need your help.  On Sunday, Dec. 5, at 11pm a DK song will be used for an entire segment on the television show "Nate On Drums".  This show is on Channel 45, so please check your local listings as to what channel that means for you.  We're not sure which song it will be, but this will be the 3rd time that they have chosen a cut from us.  How cool is that!  Definitely check it out.

DK have been busy in the studio mixing a rough version of "Bye Bye Bannanas".  Like I said, it's rough, and still needs some conga action from our friend and yours T&A.  That guy's been busy too, but he asks us to help him hold onto his anonymity as much as possible.  "Thank God for Kid n'Play" is currently being edited in the studio and there is a tentative release date of Spring '05 along with "Ballyhoo", the 18th album by DK.  We're looking to play the Hexagon and the Acadia soon so check back often for updates.

Be well and see you soon!

7/10/04

Happy Summer! Now that Summer is in full swing, Doc's Kids have taken to the ballfield. That's right, DK will be lighting up the Field of Dreams parking lot on Sunday, July 18th. Well, o.k., it's Midway Stadium, and the team is the Saints, so come on down to the old ball game and root us all on!

In other news, DK has officially begun the recording process for "Ballyhoo", the third installment of EP's to be released in the previous two years. A tentative CD release party might possibly be scheduled for Winter '04.

Don't forget, we still have the new t-shirts for sale at gigs and on our website. Go check them out. X-mas is NOT that far away!

Tuesday, May 18

Check out Morrissey's new album "You are the Quarry" released today on Sanctuary Records. After a 7-year hiatus, the "pope of mope" has returned stronger than ever before. Also check him out performing live for an unprecedented 5 nights in a row on the Late Late Show w/ Craig Kilborn (MN) on CBS after Dave Letterman from May 24-28. He'll give a rare interview and perform new songs from the album.

After giving verbal permission, Doc's Kids is pleased to announce that "Snack Pack" will be featured on a segment of the statewide broadcast television program "Nate on Drums" on Sunday, June 6 at 11pm. The channel will be different depending on your cable access, but the station is KSTC, Channel 45. They picked our song because it will be "a complete contrast from the guy in the ape mask jumping around trying to hunt down a real-estate agent." That's what they said!

Click on "buy" to check out the fresh new DK t-shirts. Feel free to wear them anywhere, on any occasion!

We've been performing some new tunes at recent gigs. These will most
likely be recorded for our upcoming album "Ballyhoo".
Percussionist/videographer, T&A is also hard at work editing the DK documentary flim "Thank God for Kid n' Play" to be released at the same time.

In other news:
"Fragile: Handle with Care" is now the unofficial theme song for an
Austrailian Graphic Design firm. Check them out here!

After being banned in two states, Doc’s Kids make their triumphant
return to the Dunn Brothers Coffee House on Grand Ave. in St. Paul.
They’ve got new songs and sweet new t-shirts designed by our friend Diana
Kowalski. Let us know if you ever need ANYTHING designed. She can do it!
Check out the BUY page.

There are certain venues just don’t have the guts to tell Doc’s Kids
that they are unprepared to handle the onslaught of pop trombone and
harmonious wizadry as are DK shows. So they make up terrible excuses not
to invite the Kids back to perform. Very lame. “Caveat Emptor” we like
to say!

Anyways, welcome to the new and improved site. Many thanks
and props to our web master, Mike D ("the body") for all his hard work and
dedication to the Zatchymusic, Inc. family!!!
